I’m a visual artist, researcher, and part-time faculty at Parsons,
The New School, specializing in urban and visual culture, media
ecology, and atmospheres of architecture. My focus is on the light
at night and the perception of darkness in urban environments.
I earned an MA in Photography + Urban Cultures (Sociology)
and recently completed my Ph.D. (Media, Communication,
+ Cultural Studies), both at Goldsmiths, University of London.
My research takes a practice-based approach, working with
photography and drawing. My current project, ‘Building Shadows,’ revisits our understanding of shadow and shade in urban

I’m also the founder of the Night Drawing project, where
I host public events that invite participants to reimagine urban
darkness through sketching.
I’ve been honored with the Stuart Hall Ph.D. Scholarship,
a Doc.Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss National Science
Foundation (SNSF), and a Fulbright award. Prior to my
academic journey, I co-founded the studio POL and the art
space Grand Palais in Bern, Switzerland.
