High Light

The series of photography’s entitled «Highlight» shows remote homes in the French region of Haute Provence during Christmas season. Those homes are built in a basic way and usually situated afield. Still, also in the backmost valley or hilltop, the tenants spare no effort to let their homes shine brightly during the month of December. One may now laugh or consider it sad or disturbing — it is exactly this sense of the “in-between” or “slightly bizarre” that fascinates me. What is intriguing for me is the friction between the simplicity of the architecture, the remoteness of the houses and the bright vigor of the Christmas decorations.
